Shocking Revelations About Average Penis Size
Posted: Jun 15 2015
To me, there’s nothing better than a set of large, strong hands on a man. And up until recently I thought this was an indication of promising measurements below the belt. I can admit that I was wrong. Sure, there was always the anecdotal evidence of my own research to fall back on, but I got beat out by researchers who studied more than 13,000 penises (or is it penii?) around the world. What they found out about penis size may surprise you – I know I was surprised!
Big Feet Size Does Not Mean Big Penis Size
There’s a lot of false information floating around out there about penis size. One of those fallacies is the average size of an erect penis. The study in question found that the average erect penis is about 13 centimeters long. They also found no correlation between penis length and foot size. And you know what they say about a man with big feet – he wears big shoes and that’s apparently it.
The reason the average penis size has been so hard to determine is because many past studies have relied on self-reporting. Let’s face it, it’s human nature to want to make ourselves seem more impressive than we actually are, which is why self-reporting has failed to give an accurate measurement. To avoid false reporting when it came to penis size, the researchers in this study had health professionals take a standardized measurement. They included girth, which is the circumference around the base or the middle of the member, and length from pubic bone to the tip of the glans. The result was data from across 20 different studies from over 13,000 penises from around the world. So, what did they find when they analyzed all that data?
The Average Flaccid Penis
The average length of a flaccid penis is measured at 9.16 centimeters, while the average erect penis length is measured at 13.12 centimeters. For girth, the average circumference for a flaccid penis was 9.31 centimeters while an erect penis was 11.66 centimeters. It was also found that the extreme ends of penis size were much less common than you might expect. For example, only 5 out of every 100 men have an erect penis longer than 16 centimeters.
Testicle Size or Body Weight Does Not Correlate With Penis Size
The study also found no correlation between penis size and other body features like weight, testicle size, or foot size. Also, in this particular study, there seemed to be no relationship between penis size and race, but it should be noted that most of the men in the study were Caucasian, so that’s really no surprise.
In the end, I’m going to go with my own experiences when I say that the size of a penis isn’t an indication of how great of a lover a man will be. Just as women get unrealistic messages in the media about their bodies, men do too. I think a lot of men think they are below average when in reality, they are above average when it comes to the size of their penis, but what you see on movies and in television (or in porn) may make them think differently. Just remember – it’s not the size of the boat, but the motion in the ocean that really matters!
