How Men Underestimate Their Penis Size

Insecurity Around Penis Size
I think a lot of people assume men aren’t that complicated. A beer, a good game of rugby and maybe an orgasm a day and they’re good to go! While that may be true for some men, I think we underestimate men’s feelings when it comes to things like penis size, sexual performance, and sexual satisfaction. After all, there’s a lot of pressure on a man to make or break a sexual experience – how does that manifest itself? Probably in insecurities around penis size. And that’s ok, I bet even on his best day Captain America (I’m a bit Avengers obsessed) has his doubts – and that guy has superhuman strength! But let’s put a few misconceptions to bed right now so that you can get on with getting it on – worry free!
Scientific Facts of Penis Length
Let’s talk average penis size. If you had to guess, what do you think it is? 6 inches? 7? According to a 2013 study the average penis is 5.5 (14 centimeters) inches erect, and the range varies from anywhere between 1.6 inches (4 centimeters) to 10.2 inches (26 centimeters). That’s a big variation! But two-thirds of the men in that study had a penis between 4.5 and 6.5 inches long (12.5 centimeters to 16.8 centimeters). This means about 20% of the men in the study had a penis below 4.5 inches long. What’s also really interesting is that race only showed a slight variation when it came to average penis size.
Another report brought together data from 12 different studies and found that 63% of men with average penis size thought they were big enough while 85% of women were satisfied with their partner’s size. See where I’m going with this? Men are way too rough on themselves when it comes to their size because if they asked their partner what she thought, she’d more than likely be satisfied – and be completely honest about it. Don’t be so hard on yourselves, men!
Don't Judge A Penis In It's Flaccid State
The fact of the matter is that most men underestimate the size of their penises. Give yourself, and your penis, some credit! And don’t worry about what your flaccid penis looks like either because most men are statistically 79% growers meaning the penis will expand and erect in length and size and 21% showers meaning the penis does not grow much larger after erection. Yet another issue where you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover – or penis by its flaccid state. There’s also been no correlation found between height or foot size and penis length, so big shoes really just mean a man has big feet. As a fan of erections, I was surprised to learn a few things about them as I was researching this topic. It’s a tough job, but someone has to do it – you’re welcome. Anyway, the average man has five erections a night –five! They think this is because during REM sleep your brain stops releasing a chemical the normally keeps your little soldier from saluting. This leads me to believe that the natural state of the penis must be erect and in being such, that must be what heaven is like. Erect penises all the time. Men also have reflex erections, mostly from a full bladder. This is where the phenomenon of “morning wood” comes from. Isn’t biology grand?
Age Increases Your Ability To Control Your Ejaculation!
As a man ages, he loses sensitivity in his penis. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing because healthy men under 65 often say their penis is too sensitive and it makes it difficult to control ejaculation. I guess this really means that a man becomes a sort of Jedi Master of his penis as he ages. Penis sensitivity is, however, a much-researched topic in relation to circumcision and there have been some interesting discoveries.
Basically, fine touch measurements done in studies that stimulate the penis using a feather have found that in a circumcised penis there is a lot of variation in sensitivity. Intact penises, however, had highly sensitive measurements at the frenulum, where the shaft and the head meet. For circumcised men, the scar from the circumcision is often the most sensitive.
To sum it all up for you fine folks, men and their penises just aren’t that simple. There are at least 17 different areas on the penis that are sensitive to touch and pressure, and no two men are alike as to what they like and what stimulates them the most. It’s way more complicated that many of us realize and not all that well understood. So, be nice to your man and find out what does it for him. And fellas – be nice to yourselves! You’re way harder on yourself than you need to be!
